This week started off with me getting the last Moderoid I needed from The Legend of Heroes Trail of Cold Steel series. I already have Azure knight and Ashen knight and now joining the group is the Argent Knight. I'm not sure why he took the longest to put together so far. The others were one day and done but he took me two days to fully assemble and several hours of getting the pieces safely out and put together. Size wise he's the biggest too so maybe that is why.
I resumed playing Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo on Switch and took on the first boss. There were a few more puzzles along the way but they weren't hard to figure out. They did take a few tries to pull off though since they require some kind of precise jumping and yoyo use for travel. The resets for messing up are rather forgiving though and since I have fall damage set to off I was able to try over and over quickly until I got through. The boss was really easy to beat and it clearly intends you to beat it differently than what I did. There are places to bounce the yoyo around which can include yourself even but I just walked around them and slapped the enemy in the face with the yoyo until I won.Once I beat him it was rather quick to leave and after some cutscenes I'm free to roam again in order to find the other boss pinpointed on my map. Like last time you can't just enter which honestly wasn't too surprising. Some of the conversations are surprising though since our character is questioning the aunt and just how much of this might be her own fault. I like that and hope something comes of it later on.
I wandered around getting the easy to grab or well puzzle locked collectibles that I can get. There are a few that require a new move that I'm sure I'll get soon enough. Anyways this area requires jumping into the sewers over and over until I finally found the one that actually leads to the back entrance to get where I want to go. I need to pick up a ID card again but this time it's in a spot that is hard to access so looping around to get it is the goal.
While this could have been done before I did the mall rat boss named Don, I'm glad I did this area second since it allows me to bypass some puzzles with the ability picked up back in the mall. Just a quick run across some water and now I don't have to do a bunch of timed jumps and yoyo throws. There still are puzzles that have to be solved though with gates in the way that require throwing a key around or going the long way around to get the key through to the box that needs unlocked. There was one I'm certain I wasn't supposed to be able to do but I slowly inched out to just shy of falling into the abyss and threw that key forward right before hurrying backwards so I don't fall to get an optional heart container capsule piece. I doubt I'll ever be able to do that move again but I was so thrilled that it worked somehow.
The second boss is up to stupid of course and is possibly easier to beat? The puzzles are just as hard towards the end and there is a hole jumping ability which didn't really surprise me any. Some numb fingers later I managed to get through the jumps and take out the boss. His passing out? dying? words hit hard though. I kind of feel like the bad guy although these other boss guys aren't necessarily good guys either.
Did some optional running around including a fighting arena for some in game money to improve badges. After that I did other optional puzzles for heart containers and badge points before heading towards the first the next two bosses. The boss I headed towards requires that I find some fans to get inside so more puzzles and this time in the sewers. I got so close to finishing the puzzle I was focused on but my hand did this weird thing it keeps doing where my fingers go numb and progress is halted. I can't get my fingers to know the difference between the jump and attack buttons when they do that and thus I fall again and again until I'm like you know what no I'll try again tomorrow. If I still can't get it I'll try to get some other fan guys since I only need 5 of the 10 available options. But for now I let my hand rest to try again the next day, which is next week at this point because I've been playing the game all week on and off.
Okay Amazon Prime gaming once again was the one with the cool titles. There is Tin Hearts some kind of action adventure platformer it looks like, Fate which is an RPG of some sort that I'm sure I'll eventually get to, and the one that really stood out Necroking. Necroking is some kind of strategy tactical card based board game thing. I'm not entirely sure I get what it is enough to explain outside the fact it looks really cool. It's a roguelite so chances of me ever finishing it are slim but I can easily see me wasting hours on this when I want to just play something to take a break from a longer rpg (such as Bravely Default HD I promise I'll get back to it and the Dynasty Warriors Origins game also. I just don't want to level grind at the moment). I've always enjoyed card based games that don't require me to learn what each card does (I'm looking at you Yu-Gi-Oh! I just wanna play not learn over 100 cards and think about which ones make a good deck). A good example of what I enjoy is Slay the Spire it really does a great job randomizing things and leaving several options up to the player while being based on cards. I haven't beat it of course but I enjoy playing it often. Another game that is more similar probably is Dungetris which I got on Steam although it's store page seems to have disappeared I can still download and play it at least. It involves using cards that are randomized to proceed and explore rooms of a castle primarily. I'm terrible at it but it is fun.
