Monday I resumed playing Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remastered and did some level grinding to get everyone to level 7 at least. With the encounter rate percentage available to be changed I upped it until I reached that point. I also bought one of my now accessible better equipment from the village armor shop to make at least one of my characters basically take no damage for now. I like that I can do this since my favorite way to play an rpg that is turn-based like this one is to make sure I have access to either the strategy or equipment that will make taking out the boss not become a chore that takes hours. For those interested in a challenge there is a hard mode so if you rather the game torture you feel free to do so this is just how I play. It takes some time early game to level up and grain the money to get the good equipment then I don't have to spend as much time doing any leveling or equipment purchasing for the rest of the game allowing me to focus on enjoying the story. Anyways my favorite change for this game from the 3DS is that the assist characters no longer require street pass which for me meant I didn't have any but instead you just go online and it appears once a day they refresh roughly around midnight to be added to the village and summon list. Now it's possible there was another way on 3DS to get these and I just somehow missed it but I recall being frustrated that I had no street pass villagers to use just the single default one you start with which is probably why I quit playing on the 3DS having become frustrated with how long I would have to wait for things to build. Alright with that aside I then moved on to the new area and watched the scene play out after entering before returning to the world map and saving for the day since it took a little while to level up the world map enemies don't give much experience after all. Something I forgot to mention is the first real boss battle gives access to change jobs to Monk and White Mage instead of just being a Freelancer. Certain weapons or lack of weapons (the Monk) are stronger for different jobs. Armor is worth changing to focus on defense and evasion since they will be more likely to be targeted in battle, at least when the enemy AI is using a brain that is.
Tuesday made my way through the 3 floors of the Centro Keep and saved because according to a mission I somehow missed a hidden wall to a treasure chest. I figure I'll find it next time.
Wednesday thunderstorms decided to knock my power out so I didn't get to play. I could have played on battery but I didn't feel like messing with it in case the power took a long time to restore. Since I had a light on, I have rechargeable bulbs in my lamps and wasn't going to sit around doing nothing I finished putting together the 4D Thor's hammer I have. Ignore the cord behind it in the photo I unplugged my phone to take photos and the cord decided to fall there hilariously looking like it went to the hammer, it doesn't lol
Thursday I found the wall spot I missed and finished up at the keep so I can move on
Friday I don't know why but I felt miserable all day. It could be sinuses or it could be the heat. I'm not sure I took the day off to rest. I read the first two volumes of the Animal Crossing New Horizons manga while relaxing. It was interesting but not really something that I plan to read more of. The jokes are a bit too goofy for me to enjoy
Saturday I felt better but still was out of sorts. I kept forgetting what I was doing so I decided playing the game was not a good idea. I instead let my time be used to install Yakuza 0 Director's Cut to my console from the game key card. I know there is debate about those but I figure if I'm going to own it and the price is the same I want a physical copy even if it still requires a download. I like looking at the cases personally.
Sunday a book came in the library so I wanted to read it. The book took longer than I planned to finish reading. It was the 4th edition of the Pokémon Visual Companion books. I like almost everything Pokémon minus a few things here and there.
Digitally I purchased Prinny Presents NIS Classics Volume 2 for Switch since I can't find any physical copies for sale that aren't overpriced. I have Volumes 1 and 3 physically so I wanted to round out the series. Plus I love rpgs and it has 2 games I never got the originals of that I plan to play sometime. As for free games the Epic Games Store had The Operator this week which is a puzzle game that looks cool but I just know I'll need a walkthrough to beat it so I'm in no rush to play though I do want to at some point. Amazon Prime Gaming had Dungeon of the Endless, which is a strategy rpg with rogue-like elements that I definitely want to play I had heard of it but just never got around to getting the game now I just need to find time somewhere to play it, and Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, I think everyone knows what those games are and yes I plan to play them eventually I actually like the series though I've only ever beat the XBOX360 title when the series saw a restart of sorts. There were a few other games on Amazon Prime Gaming but I already have them on other digital things except the Star Wars game which is an RTS and I have yet to figure out how I feel about RTS games. PSPlus updated their games catalogue to have Endless Dungeon which seems similar to the other game I got from Amazon but I'll probably play it someday, some firebreak game that I don't care about, a sim train game which I've explained before my feeling about those games, some hunter game which just isn't my kind of game I don't really care for hunting animals it doesn't interest me in the slightest, one of those Five Nights games that make me keep going wait there's another one the series isn't done yet?, We Love Katamari ReRoll which I own on XSeriesX and have beat, and finally a title I am interested in Deus Ex the Conspiracy I had been debating whether or not to buy this game so now I don't have to I have it on my PSN account
