Monday my internet was out because of some maintenance going on to it in my area for half the day so I read a book called Game Art and it has interviews with the game creators along with great images of concept art and a few of the actual games as well. I like that it has a lot of concept art though since you don't always get to see that for games.
Tuesday I made my way up Fendel Tower and got to learn about Malik's past finally. Lots of floors to climb and battles to fight to get through it all
Wednesday I went to the Glacier cave and made my way to the big cryas crystal thingy so that the story can finally progress. It's kind of a sad point in the story and a clear marker that this is getting towards end game at this point. Anyways it took forever to scoot ice blocks around so I saved after the boss battle and several long scenes were finally done.
Thursday did various cutscenes and some level grinding because a big boss fight is coming up and I want to actually do well in the battle instead of struggling like I did at the end of the Glacier caves
Friday I was right about it being an important boss fight but it was kind of easy the main thing was the wild scene afterwards and then a chapter save like this is it we are in the end game officially. With the bad guy putting himself in some alien cocoon it's time to go to find out some information by revisiting various places and watching a lot of scenes. Eventually it leads to finding out there is some snow ruins to go to which leads to a boss fight at the end of it. I then did several scenes and running around as more is revealed about Sophie and who she is. I saved outside of a warp to another research facility that I have to go to this time to clear out some monsters.
Saturday I made my way through the research facility rather simply then I had to go to another facility which had really annoying puzzles in it that took a long time to solve. Eventually I did finish it as well and then headed back to the town where our transport is being repaired at that we need. The guide I'm following says after a few scenes it'll be the point of no return for a while before we can go do the last of the side questing then final dungeon time. I saved and quit figuring I played long enough and will need plenty of time for this next dungeon to reach the end of it so I can go do all the optional stuff afterwards also.
Sunday The first dungeon to tackle is simple enough some crazy stuff happens and several cutscenes later I take a sidetracked moment and go to the Katz Corner the reward for feeding all the cats basically. Another area is hinted at and I track it down to get the ultimate reward a really strong outfit that I equip Sophie with before going to the final dungeon. I did some other side quest stuff too like Hubert hints at another hidden location and you can kind of scan the world for some other hidden locations as well. The game even has a skit saying that this is the point of no return to enter the final dungeon which is kind of true. There are two warps in the final dungeon that allows you to leave and come back one last time before you are truly stuck there for the end game, one around the center and one as you go into the depths. Anyways both of these last dungeons that are required think puzzles are fun to bother the player with. There is an option dungeon as well before finishing the game that mainly just has a discovery in it among other things to do such optional boss fights and such. The side questing took a lot of time to complete it all with some being rewarding with either items or skits while others had items that were weaker than what I had so it kind of felt like a waste of time. I'm sure it would be useful for anyone that ignored the dualizing and mixer though and still just had shop items. Anyways back at the final dungeon there are some optional fights that give what appear to be the best weapons in the game compared to everything else I made or found so they are worth it plus a few extra levels before the final boss doesn't hurt. Not to mention once the game is over there is still the future arc extra story to do and new game plus for anyone interested in that of course. I'm not interested in new game plus but I am interested in the continued storyline and the gear carries over so might as well get the best stuff. I had to save right before the final boss and call quits to get some sleep though before finishing the game.
The free games this week on Epic Games Store are Dead Island 2, which I dabbled in 1 and got bored of hitting zombies with wood that I put nails in at some point so not really sure I care about this one, and Happy Game, which is some horror puzzle game I guess that I doubt I bother with. Amazon Prime Gaming had Endless Legend Definitive, which is some kind of turn based strategy game that looks interesting at least not sure when I'll get to trying it out, Mail Time via a GOG code, which is a platform adventure so not sure I'm interested since I'm terrible at platforming and it doesn't look interesting enough to bother with, Blood Omen 2, which I know I like the series because I have a Dreamcast demo for it but don't have any other titles though I do have the remake of Soul Reaver 1 and 2 pre-ordered anyways I want to get the first game before playing 2 so it'll just sit in my digital library for now, and finally Saints Row Gat out of Hell, which I think I already have on something digitally but I'm in no hurry to bother with it since I'm not sure it's really my type of game I prefer games that have specific objectives and aren't as open world.
