My Gaming for the Week of March 31 to April 6, 2025

Monday I resumed wandering through the wraith abyss place in Shadows of Adam since it's the last area of the game and I was determined to finish this game. The enemies are getting more difficult as I progress but with the regen equip it's just a game of patience with taking down the enemies. I could have went and leveled up off the back up save to make it easier but I just was like I'm just going to press on and finish the game at this point. Some storyline stuff is becoming a bit clearer although one of the things is kind of Orazio being a jerk more so than the other two. Basically two of the three things that Kellan's father doesn't like I can understand to a certain extent but his choice to be a selfish jerk is still kind of weird since the whole game Kellan makes it clear he cares about and wants to save his dad but the flashbacks and storyline just make me go but why I don't think your dad likes you which he doesn't so that is kind of messed up too. You learn this really early on too and Talon even reiterates it asking why save Orazio he's a jerk. It isn't until now at the end of the game that everything is finally tying together to explain itself like why Curtis is involved and what happened in the past but it really isn't a good reason for what Orazio did as far as I'm concerned. Well actually I can understand his anger with the Sanctum priestess people they were wrong and wanting revenge against them kind of makes sense but the rest is just kind of dumb reasons. I won't share what he did play the game yourself or watch it on youtube I mean that is an option... The ending is great and I definitely liked it. I enjoyed the game too. The final boss fight is tough and a good challenge. Finishing the game unlocks new game+ with stronger monsters but lets you keep your end game equipment. I'm personally not doing it but it's a thing for those interested in playing through it all again.
Tuesday with Shadows of Adam finished it's time to start another game. I chose to start up Tales of Graces F Remastered on Switch. I had pre-ordered it so once I got to town after some storyline and meeting the girl with amnesia to start our story, I spent my time checking out the DLC free skits. I love the DLC items too that reference past Tales of titles even if I haven't quite played the other games yet.
Wednesday I continued playing and apparently no one know who this girl is and we name her after a flower so that's cool I guess. I make sure and battle all the monsters so I can work on maxing out my titles and get all the perks from them. I also did the side quest story bits. I ended play at the first area that monsters were respawning after maxing out Asbel's first title.
Thursday I played further through the story and unlocked the ability to combine materials into something else. The time I take to make sure and fight each of the monsters roaming about makes progress take a bit longer but at the same time I'm glad I'm doing it to get the experience now before things become more difficult in the battles. Plus the battle system takes some getting used to since you can't just bum rush the enemies. I learned beating up the same enemy enough times gets a special soul orb item and puts a star by the enemy in the enemy book reference guide.
Friday I finally finished the first chapter of the story and time speeds forward 7 years making Asbel 18 years old now or an adult basically. There was a ton of cut scenes and some rather shocking information that isn't fully explained with the end of the first chapter. Moving forward, I'm curious as to why he randomly unlocked the ability to use a new move from having a battle with an enemy that was shielded but it seems no one knows what happened. Oh I guess I should mention this new chapter also unlocked the ability to use the mixer to create items while battling and exploring plus new artes abilities to use in battle called b-artes instead of the usual a-artes. For me this means learning more battle mechanics I don't fully grasp yet but I at least have the difficulty on easy so it isn't a huge deal. I got the world map which gives me more information on locations and such which is nice but I doubt I reference it much. I also got some items to do dualizing with weapons and armor improving them which only takes effect after enough battles to temper them. Plus I unlocked stamps for the shops which allows me to get special items when I buy and sell enough at them. It gave me some materials and a book that I'm using in the mixer that lets me run faster in the field between battles.
Saturday I like that although the area is familiar that I'm passing through and from the previous chapter there are new items and enemies and an NPC that mentioned opening a shop did so in the future which is kind of cute. There is a chest that is locked in the knight academy and I guess in the original game it was words now it is numbers and there is a random place to read the answer at in town that just says to try entering the numbers without really explaining itself. I figured out that costumes are accessed in the status menu which made me happy to see that I can change the outfits like in other Tales of games to outfits of past characters. In this one they have to be unlocked via leveling up titles though so there are limited options for me right now. Anyways at the inn there are item requests too which is interesting. I found something that someone wanted after exploring around the town and the reward was a lot of SP which is what levels up titles. Accessories are available right away though so now I have kitty ears and a tail on Asbel and Malik. They show up during cutscenes too which is why I equip these silly things it helps when things become sad because like I expected something serious has occurred and now we are to head back home when we were just a moment ago celebrating that we passed our training to become a knight.
Sunday I'm not bothering with it yet but feel I should mention on the main menu there is a trials option where you can load up your current battle team to take on enemies not in the game I guess. That is what the game said anyways. Not sure what you get for doing it so I'll share when I do find out but for now I felt I should mention that does exist and I'm waiting until my team is at least 3 people now they are adults (or at least close to I'm certain Asbel's brother isn't an adult since he's younger than Asbel but I believe Cheria is older or similar to Asbel's age) and might stand a chance in such a battle. Back in Lhant there is another chest that requires looking around for a hidden message to solve the code of, it's in Asbel's home both the chest and the information to solve the needed number. The story also officially has me confused but I don't want to spoil it just know there is some character say what moment pretty soon after getting home and doing a story battle. As I continue I kind of wish they gave a reason why the neighboring land wants to attack Lhant and hope one is given at some point. Right now the goal is a surprise attack to get the upper hand against them by having traveled through a cave.

Okay the digital games starting with PSPlus out of the 3 new games for the month I own one of them on Switch, one of them is a cheesy horror game that I doubt I play and the RoboCop Rogue City game I know nothing about. Epic Games Store had Cat Quest II which I grabbed although I haven't played the first title yet I figure might as well get it while it's free so I can play the second installment immediately when I do get to the game. Amazon had some games I don't really care about or really know anything about really (the third of the Mafia series games and some Paleo Pines game) and Minecraft Legends which I have beat before on XBOXGamePass in the past and I didn't like it at all so that was a big no way for me as I passed on getting that game. I found it way too repetitive and really boring to play through you can't jump or build anything all you do is change to the equipment with better DPS (damage per second) and the armor with better perks and defenses while running through limited pathways to take out a lot of the same exact enemy over and over again.
