Monday I returned to playing Tales of Graces F Remastered heading into the new West Port area to go to Oul Raye. Some scenes are involved here and there is a new discovery along with some skits to grab and a cat I insist on feeding. I so far have made sure to not miss a single cat giving them salmon so they are happy kitties. Not sure what doing it does for me but I'm doing it anyways. I also did the other 2 trials I have available via the main menu before loading the save file figuring I could retry the one that I wasn't ready for in the past and try the new one. They both were very difficult but I did manage them. Perhaps aim for more than level 38 before trying them unlike me.
Tuesday I began the journey to the next area since I guess we can't go directly to the capital yet because of a monster. So instead on to Sable Izolle. Strahta is a ton of desert and some new enemies and such so a little exploration of our new areas must be done as well. This does include a ruins area where monsters have to be avoided for now to get some items and a discovery then using the turtlez to fast travel out of there. I did a little bit of extra monster fighting in the area they can be defeated at just to make sure that I'm not under leveled. Plus I wanted to run around to spawn an extra copy of the crystal I picked up in a chest so I can make new weapons for two characters and stay on top of dualizing.
Wednesday I ran around Sable Izolle and played the Magic Carta game. Beating the game on easy and normal without letting the NPC grab a single card either time gets new titles for Asbel and Sophie that have costumes attached to them so naturally that meant I wasted time doing this until I won. As far as I can tell there is no reports for getting something for beating it on hard so I said alright then I'm done enough of my time has been wasted already. The easiest way to win is to have a list of each card's character and the quote so when the quote is read you can pause and find out which character it was then pick that card before the NPC can. Owning all the cards is the easiest way to do this so you can write down what the characters look like if you aren't familiar with them, like myself since I haven't played through past Tales of games, or you can always just look up a list then search up an image of the character too, which I eventually did to make it faster. Anyways there is a scene in town and then if you go into the research tower another scene and some stuff to get around town including a discovery in the tower as well as a discovery outside of it. Plus another cat to feed. I eventually finished all that and left town to watch a skit by the save point then saved because it took forever just to do the Magic Carta game.
Thursday I can say this is definitely something new this time around. After walking across some desert and exploring a little it's time to meet the rockagong and then explore inside of it because that is a thing... It apparently swallowed a house too so that's interesting. Outside of the obvious goal being to get out there is a goal to kill the parasite inside the monster as well so that it can be nice and peaceful again. Basically a bunch of jumping around to do a boss fight and some scenes in order to be able to go where we wanted to. We could technically from the cliff we end up at summon the rockagong to access a dungeon and fight the rockagong but we are in no way shape or form ready to do so. Off to the capital Yu Liberte instead.
Friday I explored the capital city and watched tons of cut scenes. There was a lot of running around back and forth to finally be able to make progress again. Apparently some cryas crystal thing isn't working right and Pascal knows things about them so time to head over to it to attempt to fix it. The area to the west is a big desert area to get lost in exploring again. I started the process of exploring it to get something underway after spending all that time just reading dialogue and watching people talk about what is going on. From what I can tell it seems the Amarcian ruins are connected to everything somehow and since Pascal has some fascination with them she is knowledgeable on where to start. I have a feeling at some point these ruins will reveal more about Sophie too but probably not yet since this is like middle of the game still.
Saturday I made my way through the desert the rest of the way grabbing the treasures then went to the ruins. The ruins have puzzles in them that I really don't know how to explain the solving process of since I'm not even sure how I figured it out myself but regardless I made my way through the whole place and got all the treasures. The end area has a boss fight and several cut scenes. I really have no idea what is going on with Richard but I'm thinking that some evil spirit is in him maybe? and the opponent of that evil spirit is in Sophie but she seems more in control of her good spirit refusing to fight for now. Anyways Richard is doing more bad things basically and now we are supposed to go to another continent to try to stop him or at least find out why he's doing the bad things since the goal seems unclear for now.
Sunday the turtlez are basically a fast travel now to places we've been so time to do various side questing before proceeding into the second half of the game now that Hubert is with us to help fight monsters and needs some leveling done. The side quests allow for running around and fighting monsters while going to get items for requests that need filled. Plus there is a side quest that involves going back into the teleport filled ruins which is only accessible on foot so therefore might as well fight monsters along the way. It's a lot of optional stuff but is several scenes and I feel it's worth doing before going into the next part of the main story.
So for digital games I'm going to first feel old because I think Chuchel the free Epic Games Store title was originally on PSP right? It's been years and I'm not sure I want to know how long it's been since it just makes me realize how old I am. Regardless I never grabbed it back then because I like today still never have enough money to buy everything I want. I'm not sure when I'll get to it but I definitely want to eventually play this game because it is my favorite kind of hilarity with the struggles to get that cherry. Outside of any repeat titles on Amazon Prime Gaming there is Troublemaker for Epic Games Store which is some kind of beat 'em up it looks like. I'm not a huge fan of beat 'em ups but do occasionally enjoy a good one so I might give it a try eventually. I have so many ones I know are good to play still though so it's not a high priority. The other new title is Thief gold edition which is nice and all but I already own Thief on PS3 physically and will play that version whenever I do get to it. Not really a high priority title it was more of just me grabbing it way back when it was on sale one day and I was buying other titles at the game store.
I would have got Oblivion Remastered but I managed to get a pre-order of Switch 2 placed so I'll get that PSN title next week or the week after that kind of depends on availability of Switch 2 games and accessories to pre-order they currently are sold out of what I want so we'll see. I plan to play that game probably next year at this rate too many good games this year. Anyways I have completed Skyrim in the past and enjoyed the first time I did so and was okay with the second time then was too bored to bother finishing doing so the 3rd time because it came out with new this and that every year on every console and I just need like a decade away from it. I however never did finish Oblivion on PS3 because the controls are outdated and the game is just difficult. You have to actually sleep to level up and keep track of diseases and jump around to be able to move faster. I'm not sure the remaster actually does anything for any of those outdated systems but it at least does add in all the dlc like the Shivering Isles quests so that makes it worth getting for when I do take the time and effort to play through that game. I don't know if I'll complete it though it might be a beat it thing if the diseases and sleep to level system are still present because it just becomes bothersome at some point in trying to get from place to place without becoming infected by some random encounter since there is no way to just lug around everything you have a weight system and once you have too much you aren't going anywhere. Okay side rant over there of how Skyrim was way better and I will eventually deal with Oblivion and its difficulties mainly to see the story.
