Monday I resumed playing Shadows of Adam. Before leaving the forest some weird four armed thief guy attacked and then I proceeded toward the castle town I was heading to. I first visited a small little spot off to the side that just was a few normal fights and leading a dog back to its owner. In the town we were supposed to head to there are some hilarious NPC conversations and a side quest line that might be important later so I do what I can for it for now. There is a battle arena also but I'm only strong enough for the first battle. Finally doing what I was supposed to do I find out where the magic guy is and leave town to head there. He apparently went to some dangerous magic tower so I head there and slowly figure out the maze like up and down and teleporting pattern to make my way through getting some more purple chests with weapons in them. At the very top is the guy we wanted to find and a boss fight against some wind guardian I guess. It looks like a dragon as far as I'm concerned.
Tuesday while playing I had a thought that I didn't really notice until now I don't know if it's possible to do any level grinding. I haven't seen a single enemy reappear anywhere so I guess it's a good thing that I'm going out of my way to check out the optional stuff so far in the game. I mainly decided to do so since this is a rather short game but now I'm glad I am since I might need the experience for boss battles primarily. After all the battle arena doesn't give experience just items if you win, which I have a habit of hording until the last minute in a game. Anyways after leaving the tower it is time to head south to some town being guarded and sneak around so we can get a boat to go to a different continent because we need to go to a water garden for some reason. It results eventually in fighting Pirates.
Wednesday I figured out if you exit to the overwold map the enemies respawn that way. Kind of annoying to have to do that much running back and forth but whatever. Anyways I had rode the pirate ship to the next town and found out that I need to make my way through a swamp to get to the garden because logic... Anyways I figured out the respawn thing because the enemies are a bit tough here and I was trying to figure out what to do to not get my butt kicked. So I'm going to do some level grinding now I guess.
Thursday I got to the levels I wanted to for now and made my way through the Swamp finding the purple chest in it. I also made a visit to the guild via transport at one point and now have 2 of the accessory (artifact as this game calls it) equipment item that boosts HP and gives regen to the character wearing it. It really helps with the battles so I'm hoping to try to keep saving up in game and get 2 more before the end of the game to make the final battles easier.
Friday I finally am making progress again and go through merchant camp to a campsite where Zak and Nik show up again. They were annoying back at the tower and now they are in the way on the path to the water garden... I have a feeling this is going to be a trend. The water garden should be called the maze of puzzles as I spent way longer than I would care to admit solving the 3rd one in the garden paths.
Saturday the idiots show up again after leaving the garden and going to the swamp again to move a gravestone and access a secret path. This time the idiots gave enough time for another weirdo to show up making Azzy use magic causing everyone to fall and Curtis to enter a flashback for some reason that is brief adding some storyline primarily. Anyways afterwards is some more puzzles and cart riding around some mines that leads to an exit finally. There is a village with cave people for some reason but it's an upgrade to the gear so whatever and then onward to the magma umm I think caverns? I forget but the fire place for the 3rd crystal gem thing. It has some puzzles in it too but they aren't too bad so far and there was a purple chest to swap to another upgrade. Oh and before I forget right before fighting the golem boss thing of the mines I went back to the guild which was being weird and stuff, 'save' the heal teleporter that normally talks was odd too, anyways I got it so all 4 characters now have the extra life regen artifact equipped and used the knight's mane and the forget to put that along with the duplicator together for Kellan to use since I primarily just have him hit enemies with his sword during battles.
Sunday I resumed my voyage through the magma sanctum (I looked this time at the name). After getting a shard and fighting those goobers again we end up on an airship with the bad guy or well a bad guy he's kind of lame and resorted to using cannons to capture us. Talon gets his stupid self separated from us and Curtis breaks us out after some more story that makes little sense at the moment. The enemies are way tougher here than anywhere before so if you didn't level before now you might be kind of screwed. I luckily figured that out in advance back at the swamp and have been making a back up save in case while making sure to level up some extra here and there along the way so I manage just fine. Afterwards is the ruins of a town I guess and down into an Earth Maze. That is the name of it and it's kind of accurate lot of random running around to make my way through it. Anyways it leads to a battle against the idiot bad guy and more storyline that I wish would just explain itself already. There is also now a huge hole in the world so umm okay? I guess it's the wraith abyss land or whatever. The last area basically. We have control of the airship and can go explore optional stuff and grind levels if needed before descending. I feel leveled up enough and proceed after making a save backup. This final area is a bit of a confusing maze that is very time consuming to make progress in.
For digital games I purchased Picross Genesis or whatever the specific title was on the Nintendo EShop while it was on sale. I love picross and I grew up with the Genesis as my first game system so it holds a special place in my heart. The two combined was perfect. I also got AI the Somnium Files on PSN while it was on sale as part of their spring sale. I have been wanting to get that game since I really think I would enjoy it but didn't want to pay full price if I didn't have to so perfect time to get it. As for the free games in the Epic Games Store I already own Cat Quest on the Switch Nintendo EShop and I'm not a huge fan of platformers, mainly cause I'm terrible at them, so I don't know how I feel about Neko Ghost, Jump but it does look interesting at least so I did grab my free copy. None of the Amazon Prime Gaming free games interested me in the slightest except for Deus Ex Invisible War which was a GOG code that I claimed for whenever I do check out the Deus Ex game series.
I call it Lego but it's really mega constructs or whatever of Pokemon that I put together this week of Pichu. There is a little wheel on the side that can be turned to make Pichu move up and down to try to get the berries on the tree which I think is really cool since generally Lego type things don't do anything.
