Princess Peach Showtime Day 1 Floor 1 Beat

I've seen a handful of mixed reviews on this game from it being good but easy to it being a waste of time. I figure the best thing for me to do was rent it through GameFly and find out for myself how I feel about the game. So, from what I understand going in is that each stage play has a different set of actions for Peach with some being more similar than others. For the sake of tagging, it I'm just going to say this is an Action-Adventure game since a lot of games in that category like to switch game controls at times for various reasons be it mini-games or driving sections, etc.

First thought about the game is the way Peach runs around at the start holding her dress is super cute. It's odd but without her crown it just feels like Peach's hair looks messy even though it's not because of the style her hair is combed in until she transforms her hair with a ribbon that will be used throughout the game from there on.

Swordfighter is the first play. So, each play has several collectable sparkles it seems. They are rather easy to get too. I also collected some other pink bow item so I guess stage end that will be shared with me... or at least I hope so.

Apparently, there are collectable dress ribbons in the stages and this first stage only had the one and 10 sparkles to collect. Each stage can be replayed if something is somehow missed as well. In the lobby outfits can be bought for both Peach and here ribbon friend Stella. The posters are also temporarily changed to show the villain grape bunch too which I feel is a nice touch. Anyways the downstairs is unlocked but has nothing down there for now so there are 3 stages to choose from a cowgirl, a sweet pastry, and a ninja stage. Each one has a title and shows there is 1 ribbon and 10 sparkles. Really quick before I move on the menu has access to change all unlocked/purchased outfits, music tracks unlocked jukebox, a list of plays so far and how many sparkles and bows earned, something yet to unlock, and movies unlocked can be re-watched.

For now, I'm just doing each stage once because I'm not sure what the reason for collecting the Sparkles is so unless it becomes important, I'm not going to worry about it. First attempt through the cowgirl stage I missed 2 sparkles and I'm not sure how or where to be honest... Each stage so far has only taken around 15 minutes though so if I do have to go back at least it'll be short. The ninja stage was a one and done but was pretty fun. I did notice one thing though as cute as her transformations are there is no way to skip Peach's transformations... This means if I have to replay any stages that will get a little annoying. I missed out on 2 sparkles for not being fast enough in the sweets making with Peach which is oddly kind of hard to do.

The boss door for the floor required sparkle gems to unlock so I guess the sparkles need a certain amount of collection to beat the game but maybe not all of them. Reminds me of the stars in Super Mario 64 in that sense. I also appreciate that the boss is 3 hits and done too. It seems collecting all the Sparkles in a play gets an album photo unlock so unless a door is blocked by needing more sparkles, I'm not too worried about it. The center lobby also has a special stage now that the boss is defeated, I wonder how often it changes. Doing a high enough score gets both coins and a special bow for a new design for Peach's outfit; it's stars by the way. The coins was enough to finally buy out Stella's design changes and get 1 for Peach that I'll never use. I think Peach is going to stay on the Ninja stage's special bow one since it is such a pretty flower pattern.

Well, this is long enough lol it hasn't even been but like an hour, but I have many thoughts as I play so far maybe less so moving forward? Anyways next time I head to floor 2.
